FWC requests public comment about
peregrine falcon

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission (FWC) is asking for comments and information from the
public about the conservation needs of the peregrine falcon and
any economic and social factors that should be considered in
managing the species in Florida.
The FWC is developing a management plan for the
peregrine falcon after commissioners determined the bird
warranted removal from the state’s imperiled species list. Staff
recommended removing the falcon from the list after considering
the results of a biological status report, independent
scientific reviews and public comments about the biological
status of the bird.
The falcon will be delisted upon completion and
approval of a species-specific management plan to guide
conservation and management of peregrine falcons in Florida.
